The Excitement is Ramping Up!
From the moment hole drilling begins bright and early, to the line-up and grid opening with anglers rushing to their spots, the thrill never stops! Feel the excitement of catching fish, cozy up at the fire pit zone, and watch the kids having a blast in the Kids Zone—the Derby is non-stop fun from start to finish. Get in on the excitement of the on-ice games to win some great prizes and bragging rights with your fellow anglers! And the action continues off the ice with live music on the street and announcements of huge prizes for our lucky winners.

Back for a 2nd year! The first 325 youth who check in will receive a FREE rod & reel combo—a perfect way to get the next generation hooked on fishing.
We heard you loud and clear! This year, there will be 5 additional exciting prizes awarded for fish caught, randomly selected from all fish caught. The winners will be announced at the Outdoor Patio just before the boat/trailer & big cash prizes.
And for 2026, we’ll be videotaping the event, so make sure you get in on the action and be part of the memories!

Ticket Sales Update:
Electronic ticket sales will remain available right up to & including Derby Day, so you can secure your spot anytime online.
PLEASE NOTE: Adult 2nd Hole tickets will not be available online after 4:00 PM on February 27th. As these tickets are capped at 500, any remaining Adult 2nd Hole tickets can still be purchased in person at Registration Desk in the Lakeview Hotel on Derby Day, subject to availability.
We will be hosting in-person sales on Friday, February 27th at the Lakeview Hotel starting at 6:30 PM, where you can purchase:

Volunteer Update:
All volunteers should have now been contacted by their CVO Organizational Leader with details about your volunteer position, reporting location, and start time.
Please check your email and if you have not received this information, please contact your Organizational Leader as soon as possible so you’re fully prepared for Derby Day.
As a valued CVO Volunteer, you play an essential role in supporting your organization and help to make the Lac du Bonnet Ice Fishing Derby such a successful event. You represent your organization, the Derby, and the entire community—helping us showcase the very best of Lac du Bonnet to hundreds of visitors.
A few key reminders:
• Confirm your shift with your Organizational Leader and notify them right away if anything changes
• Arrive 15 minutes early to your assigned location, ready to go
• Parking will be at a premium, so please factor this into your travel time to ensure you arrive on time for your shift
• Dress appropriately for your role as most shifts are outdoors
• Sign in with your Section Supervisor at the start of your shift
• Wear your Volunteer ID vest and t-shirt. Please return your Volunteer ID vest after your shift. The t-shirt is yours to keep.
• Water and snacks will be available at the Volunteer Centre on the ice near the Prize Distribution Centre

Derby Day Parking update:
This information applies to all anglers, sponsors and volunteers attending the derby. To help make Derby Day run smoothly in Lac du Bonnet, we strongly encourage you to park at the following locations:
Lac du Bonnet Community Centre
Lac du Bonnet Arena
Lac du Bonnet Senior School
These lots are just a short 2-block walk to the derby site and help reduce congestion.
Additional Parking: Street parking is allowed—please don’t block driveways or access points.
Accessible Parking: 4 handicap spots are available on 3rd Street near the Lakeview Registration entrance. Display a valid permit.
Do Not Park in Campbell's Food Store lot or in front of Hair Source on Park Avenue
Traffic will be heavier than usual, so allow extra time to park and walk. For ice access assistance, contact gm@ldbice.ca in advance.

How to Enter:
Purchase an Adult 2nd Hole Ticket. Each 2nd Hole ticket counts as one entry.
A 2nd Hole ticket must be purchased with a valid Adult Derby Ticket.
Each angler may purchase only one 2nd Hole ticket.
Maximum of 500 Adult 2nd Hole Tickets available – once sold out, no additional entries can be purchased.
Eligibility:
Adult tickets can be purchased by participants 16 years of age or older.
Youth participants cannot purchase an Adult ticket to enter the contest.
Tickets must be issued in your own name.
All participants must check in on Derby Day and be present at the draw to win.

Draw Details:
The random draw will take place at approximately 4:30 PM on Derby Day, just before the First Place Cash prize is awarded.
The winner must be present to claim the prize.

The family had an unforgettable day out on the ice, making memories that will be cherished forever. And to top it all off, Hannah even won a youth prize! A heartfelt thank you to the Derby organizers for making this possible, for welcoming our family with open arms, and for allowing Sheyanna to speak—though the emotions ran deep, please know our gratitude is endless."
